Leela Singh

Leela is thrilled to be joining AORTA’s Headwaters Facilitation Apprenticeship!

Leela has been a facilitator for the past eight years and continues to deepen her facilitation practice as the Consulting Manager at Justice Funders, a worker-led philanthropic intermediary dedicated to ushering in a just transition for philanthropy and redistributing control of wealth and resources to movements.

Leela utilizes just transition and conflict literacy frameworks in combination with her years of project management experience to push foundations past extractive, self-perpetuating strategy and into regenerative, leftist practices centered on ceding control and moving capital to movement organizations. Internally, Leela facilitates one of five governance circles for Justice Funders, learning with her colleagues how to hold power together and build a model for radical well-being to help others break away from the nonprofit industrial complex.

Outside of work, Leela is primarily interested in crunchy snacks, shiny rocks, and arthouse cinema. She calls the land also known as Chicago home.
